This was shot and edited back in 2004 for TASP. These kids are between 10 and 12 years old. They were too embarrassed to participate in the camp wide lip sync, so we made a music video instead. I didn’t pick the song. Disclaimer: The camp okay-ed the song. hahaha
Just some photos from all my travels for work.
Just a short profile of Dr. Peter Lucas (NYU, New School). He has some amazing projects, all dealing with Human Rights, Perspective, and the role of new media in peace making. Topics include: “positive peace”, the role of new media in the Human Rights forum, Viva Favela project, UN’s cyber school bus, and advice to young folks.
This film was shot for my first film class EVER in 2002. The teacher assigned songs to us, we had to shoot with a 16mm Bolex and edited using an old Steenbeck machine. This was all shot in one day, with no crew- just my friends who agreed to act. It was me, my light meter, and a rough script in my head! Learned a lot in that class. I finally got it transferred this past summer.
Surma Book Store
In an attempt to capture the monumentous changes the East Village has undergone in recent decades, we shot hours and hours of footage. While looking at the transition from Little Ukraine and Little Poland to the current hip and diverse “culture” (or lack there of)…we stumbled upon a precious time capsule. This is a quick look at the Ukrainian book store, Surma.
Shoot, shoot, shoot
So, the 7th and 2nd intersection documentary changed directions this past weekend (well, Friday). After shooting almost 2.5 hours of footage, we realized it sucked. Well, actually, it would suck unless we edited the crap out of it for weeks. Then it would have been much better than what we eventually ended up shooting on Friday. Anyways, we have a NY 1-esque local coverage of the Ukrainian store, Surma. Much different style. More realistic for this assignment.
Coming soon….
ITP class
New summer class…first assignment, 10 frames to show the journey from home to class. We see all the temptations between here and there. St. Mark’s Place, sexy chicks on newspapers, Dunkin Donuts…
